What is gait training?

Often, changes are related to underlying medical conditions, including inner ear disorders, nervous system disorders, muscle diseases and musculoskeletal abnormalities. Diagnostic tools for physical therapists to identify the root cause of gait dysfunction may include observation, gait speed measurements, balance tests, strength and range of motion measurements and reflex and sensation screenings.

What are the benefits?

Gait training identifies and treats the root cause of gait dysfunction. By identifying the root cause, your physical therapist can create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals and get you back to moving freely without long term gain abnormalities and further dysfunction.
